SIXTY-FOURTH ANNUAL MEETING OF
CP ROCHESTER’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS
|
| Board Chairman Robert C. Maddamma convened the sixty-fourth Annual Meeting of the CP Rochester Board of Directors at noon on June 15th 2010. Following a welcome and introduction of special guests, 20 staff members were recognized for significant milestones in their employment at CP Rochester. |
| After a brief luncheon Mr. Maddamma introduced Mr. Thomas Hamel, VP Finance and Financial Management Support of Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State (CP NYS) whose remarks voiced the financial concerns facing us as the New York State budget process slips into financial disorder. |
| The Board moved through extending the tenure of four Board Members and the election of Brendan P. O’Riordan and Jay Quinn to the Board. Assistant Chair of the Finance Committee, John P. Meade, presented the 2009 Audited Financial Statements which were approved as presented. Board Member Ann Kurz then took the podium to present the Consumer Services Committee’s summary of the changes and challenges of 2009 and emphasized the importance of the new Operational Assessment Process to plan for future growth opportunities and manage limited resources. |
| CP Rochester President, Brian C. Klafehn began his Report and Remarks by thanking the attendees and recognizing the breadth of relationship those assembled have with CP Rochester. He expressed assurance that the state of CP Rochester is well positioned and financially sound, in no small part because of the support of those present. |
| Mr. Klafehn reflected on the date of June 24th, 1946, when a courageous group of advocates incorporated United Cerebral Palsy of the Rochester Area. Next year CP Rochester will celebrate its 65th Anniversary with great fanfare. |
| In July a Blueprint for Community and Support Service will be presented to the Board to stimulate a new decade of service and a revision of CP Rochester’s Strategic Plan of services which support people in choosing and living their lives in the community they choose. Inclusion and Community will be our focus as we work together to “do the right thing and do it right” as we grow and nurture our ethical culture at CP Rochester. |
|
Mr. Klafehn recognized and expressed his gratitude for the service of outgoing Board Members Nancy E. Catarisano, Brian P. Covney, Joseph P. Dellavilla, and Warren Hern.
|
| Mr. Maddamma adjourned the meeting following a motion from the Board. |
