Direct Support Professional - Day Hab Program Part Time

Position Title: Direct Support Professional - Day Hab Program - Part Time




  • Acts as an active team member in providing for the well-being and direct care needs of adult consumers who receive day program services.
  • Imparts agency philosophy of “Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence” to individuals, families, program staff and community resources.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.
  • Provides direct personal care to CP consumers. This care may include, but is not limited to: personal hygiene, behavioral monitoring, recreational activities, meal preparation, and community integration.
  • Implements activity and behavioral guidelines or plans established by others and desired outcome guidelines of the family and/or service coordinator.
  • Completes required documentation as defined by the program or department.
  • Attends all necessary training sessions on job related topics deemed necessary to attain acceptable job performance.
  • Achieves program goals by performing other responsibilities as required.
  • Adheres to the agency’s policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.
  • Performs other duties at the discretion of the Program Director or his/her designee.

Rate:  $12.75/Hour and up commensurate with experience

Hours of Employment:

Part-Time - 5 hours per day Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00am-2:30pm

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Valid and clean New York State Driver’s License.
  • Ability to become CPR and first aid certified and successfully complete required training courses.
  • Physical Requirements include: sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, pulling and pushing wheelchairs and adaptive equipment, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, crawling, color determination, visual acuity, speaking clearly, listening to spoken communication, sense of taste and smell.
