Golisano Autism Center - Family Navigator Autism Up

Position Title: Golisan Autism Center - Family Navigator for Autism Up

Position Summary:  Coordinate education and support services for families living in the city of Rochester.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Staffs information tables and resource fairs in the city of Rochester.
  • Develops and maintains relationships between AutismUp and organizations in Rochester.
  • Shares information on community resources with families.
  • Identifies families in need of ongoing support and facilitate appropriate connections.
  • Connects families with appropriate AutismUp programs and supports.
  • Answers phone calls and emails from people looking for information and support.
  • Other AutismUp-related duties as assigned.
Hours of Employment: This is a part-time position with flexible hours and weekends as needed.
Required Education & Experience:
  • Graduation from a 4-year college or university preferred.2 years human services experience is required.
  • A parent or family member of an individual with Autism or related disability is a plus.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience recruiting, managing, and supporting groups and individuals.
  • Must be able to lift over 20 lbs. and physically able to maneuver safely throughout the Multi-Sensory Learning Environment.
