The aquatic therapy pool offers physical therapy in a warm water environment, heated to 94-96 degrees (F). The warmth and buoyancy of the water promote movement when it is too difficult to exercise on land.
The pool allows focus on:
Increasing muscle and body strength/endurance through water resistance
Decreasing pain
Allowing for partial weight bearing and ambulation
Strengthening respiratory muscles
Relaxing muscles related to spasticity/tone to improve range of motion
Promoting independence
The pool is equipped with a ramp and a chair lift and uses pool chairs/stretchers to allow access for all individuals, regardless of mobility level.
